"State Final Sorrows"

Senior softball the end of a long quest
A great season we really did our best
A team with a bond like no other
I trust them as much as I trust my own brother

We fought and fought every game
When we made it to state finals we knew we were not lame
The suspense was built and the tensions rose
We knew we would defeat our worthy foes

The game is on but something is amiss
Reality hits us like a bittersweet kiss
Our morale drops as we see the end
But not giving up hope that there may be something around the bend.

Our loss is clear and our emotions are high
We sob until our tears run dry
It ends our season but not our fellowship
I would not have chosen anyone else with whom to share this hardship

"Wanted Dead or Alive"

A laptop is a student's best friend
no matter the size, shape, or brand.
It holds all your pictures, files and records.
Have some fun and play Angry Birds.

Yesterday I opened up my laptop
only to find myself being stopped.
Apparently the FBI is looking for me,
dang you cybernetic security!

There's no way this isn't a virus
This just shows you never can trust,
websites that offer pirated games.
Now I'm being completely framed.

How am I supposed to do my work?
There's no library time because of sports.
I lost everything I did in school until now
I'll have to redo it all which makes me frown :(

"High School Student Economy"

Yesterday, while I was laying in bed
I became troubled with a thought in my head
I realized a minimum wage salary
with no tips that people would give to me,
does not create a large enough income
to be worth it in the long run.
So why save my money now?
I make so little for the sweat on my brow
I'm going to spend all the money I make.
I'll by an accordion, an expensive steak
Yes, this is my decision, an end to my rage!
No more will I be a foot soldier for the cages
Student workers should be payed higher
Company managers are cheap liars
that take advantage of people like me
cut back by parents desperate for money.

"My Race Against Time"

I'm half asleep behind the counter of my job
when my old coach comes in and gives me a nod.
"Are you ready for this season," they said on the spot,
"tryouts are this friday! Don't tell me you forgot."
My heart almost stopped, I swore in skipped a beat,
because that's when I realized my papers aren't complete!
"Mom call the doctor!" I screamed over the phone,
and after that I rushed all the way home.

I got my physical, it's the day before tryouts
I had to get two shots but I tried not to pout.
There was to no way to tell if I'd be cleared
As the day drew nearer, I was enveloped in fear.
But I handed in my papers so I have some hope,
Mr. Ricciardelli will come through like the pope

"How I Overcame Finding a Place For My Stuff"

This Christmas I happily received many gifts,
One was a small tank and I even got a fish
I got a cool laptop and a mouse for it as well
and lastly an owl statue that I surely won't sell

I have all these new things but no where to put them,
although I treasure them dearly like a valuable gem.
I'll need something flat, a shelf or perhaps a nice tray,
anything to put my new stuff on display.

That's it a table! That would be perfect for my laptop,
however the right size could never be found at any shop
for my room is very small, a coffee table would be too short
but a desk is too big and my organization would be in all sorts

I have to build my own table to my liking, it's the only way
first I'll get 1/2 inch plywood, cut the dimensions that I say
get four legs and.... well I'll just get my dad to build it.
Now I have a place in my room for all my stuff to fit.

"How I Managed To Make Snoopy Edible"

This year I decided to take cooking
There weren't really many options
So I didn't bother even looking
Though it went against my aspirations

because I definitely don't want to be a chef
but every year I saw the gingerbread contest
and I knew I would win as I took a deep breathe
My idea was flawless and the results nothing less

I would make Snoopy out of rice crispies
and cover his body all in white frosting
He was world consist of separate pieces
Then I'd put him together being very caring

but everything started to go terribly wrong
and none of the parts were sticking to each other
we put him in the freezer and it didn't take long,
before he was all messy but also frozen together

he was finally finished and ready for judging
my beautiful creation that I thought wouldn't work
I know I'm going to win, I can hear the change clanging
Mrs. Beiner just announced it now lets get out the forks

"Evacuate Bergen Batting Center"

The flood is coming to my workplace.
Time to seal and pack everything up,
Carry out the equipment pick up the pace,
Move it all out even the new cups.

I wasn't even supposed to work today,
My back is starting to kill me
If i wasn't getting paid for this,
I would definitely run and flee.

My lifting partner is a whole foot taller
I keep falling over from the weight
This cart of bats feels like a boulder,
My legs burn and it's starting to get late.

Now we have to pull up all the matts,
Put them in a high place so they don't get wet.
I'm being constantly bothered by nats,
but this is the last load, one more step.

Bergen Batting Center is practically empty.
Okay... now I can go home.
